R.N.Z.A.F. TEAM TO PLAY CANTERBURY
Advice that the touring Royal New Zealand Air Force Association football team would play a Canterbury team at English Park on September 9 was received from the Air Department at a meeting of the Canterbury Football Association last evening. The junior management committee was congratulated on conducting a successful schoolboys’ centennial tournament, teams from Canterbury, Otago, Southland, Buller, Westland, and South Canterbury having taken part. Canterbury won the tournament. 1
It was reported that the Chinese Oriental team drew with Western in the Third Grade Cup final. The cup will be held jointly. This was the first major success for the Chinese team, which was formed two years ago. A match between players from New Zealand and players from overseas will be played on September 9. The following teams for the match between Canterbury and R.N.Z.A.F. were announced:—
