NEW CABINET IN GREECE
ATTEMPT TO FORM COALITION MR VENIZELOS TO BE PRIME MINISTER (Rec. 9 p.m.) ATHENS, August 21. The Greek Liberal leader, Mr Sophocles Venizelos, has announced that a skeleton Cabinet consisting of “six or seven” Liberal Ministers, with himself Prime Minister, will be sworn In to-night. Mr Venizelos said that, having secured Populist support, he was forming a restricted coalition Cabinet wfth the Unionist and National Parties. He added that he would try to broaden the coalition when the Social Democrat leader, Mr George Papandreou,’ returned from America this week.
The coalition Government of General Nicholas Plastiras resigned last week after its seven Liberal members had walked out.
