Mr S. D. Dallard, stationmaster at Tlmaru, will take up his hew appointment as stationmaster at Christchurch next Thursday. He will be replaced by Mr W. C. Tritt, stationmaster at Oamaru.
Mr Walton Bremner, a senior visiting surgeon at the Christchurch Public Hospital, has been granted six months’ leave to visit Britain and the United States.
Mr A. J. Tait, who has been a member of the Courthouse staff at Timaru for eight years, left Timaru yesterday for Greymouth, where he will take up his new appointment as deputyregistrar of the Magistrate’s and Supreme Courts.— (F.0.0.R., Timaru.) Inspector G. H. L. Holt, officer in charge of the uniform branch at the Christchurch Central Police Station, is now on annual leave, and SubInspector J. McKie has taken over his duties. Mr K. R. Hancock, of the “Dominion,” was elected chairman of the Parliamentary Press Gallery at its annual meeting yesterday. Mr H. C. Lane, of the “Evening Post,” was elected vice-chairman, and Mr C. E. Wheeler treasurer. — (F.0.P.R.) Mr John S. Poulton will leave on Monday by air for a visit to the United States. Mr Poulton will do postgraduate work in association with Dr. Lester Walsh, of the Faculty of Temple University Foot Hospital in Philadelphia. Mr Poulton will also attend the thirty-eight annual convention of the National Association of Chiropodists in Boston, where he will read a paper.
