CHATHAM ISLANDS DOCTOR
INCREASED SALARY FOR POSITION
Difficulties which the North Canterbury Hospital Board has had for several years in obtaining doctors for the Chatham Islands may be overcome by the new salary scale allowed for the position of medical officer at the islands.
The islands have been declared a special area under the Social Security Act, and the new salary rate is £l5OO a year with travelling expenses and a free house. Previously, the position Carried a salary of £llOO a year. The board is now advertising the position.
