MEMBEK Ur NEW ZEALAND BENCH SINCE 1929 (New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, June 28. Sir Robert Kennedy, who has been a Judge of the Supreme Court of New Zealand since 1929. and is at present senior puisne judge, will retire from the Bench in about a month’s time.
Sir Robert Kennedy was born ij Southland in 1887. He was educate at the Southland Boys’ High Schoc
and Victoria University College. He won junior and senior university scholarships and the Jacob Joseph research scholarship in arts and law. He graduated M.A. with first-class honours. He was admitted as a barrister and solicitor in Wellington in 1909.
Sir Robert Kennedy has been examiner in law to the New Zealand University. president of the Wellington District Law Society, president of the New Zealand Shiowrecked Mariners’ Society, and president of the Otago Patients’ and Prisoners’ Aid Society. He was Royal commissioner for the Orakei native lands.
