DEVELOPMENT LOAN
ENTHUSIASM SHOWN AT AUCKLAND

Success is seen in Auckland for the 1950 National Development Loan. The District Treasury officer (Mr C. E. Tennent) said to-day that he thought there had not been so many inquiries or such enthusiasm since the 1945 Victory Loan.
Already £70.000 has been received at the Treasury office, and Mr Tennent estimates that the total will reach £l,OOO 000 by the closing date. Auckland trading banks, too. have received many applications and inquiries. Thev had collected, to last night. £lOO.OOO. Four out of every five investors through the banks and the Treasury have made small investments.
