MURDER OF CHINESE IN AUCKLAND
NO ARREST YET MADE (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND. May 25. Many persons have been intensively questioned about the murder of Lee Hoy Chong, a Chinese, aged 47. at his home at Baker street. Auckland, on Monday night, but no arrest had been made up to a late hour to-night. A special squad of detectives has been at work since 11 a.m. on Tuesday questioning Europeans. Maoris. Chinese. Indians, and Islanders. The investigations are still confined to Auckland, and the police are hopeful of finding certain persons who may be able to help their inquiries.
