rnu T 7. z- LONDON. March 31. .The Estimates for the British Food Ministry for the coming year l total jJoVrtnn £402,000,000—a decrease of £21.000.000 on this year’s figure. The chief decrease is in trading services The Ministry expects to spend £1.728:000.000 on the purchase, freight and storage of food. Simultaneously with the drop in the Estimates, the Ministry is pruning its staff from which 9(k) have recently left. These staff cbts. which Will eventually total 3500, will save more than £1,000,000.
