OFFICIAL FORECASTS "The Press” Special Service _ WELLINGTON, April 2. The weather forecast for Canterbury a t 9. p.m. by the Meteorological Office. Wellington, and dealing with the 20 hours following - the time of issue is as follows: Situation: pressures are low to the north-east and south of New Zealand. Ari anti-cyclone covers the eastern Tasman. Forecast to 5 p.m.: moderate rorth-easterlies and fair to cloudy weather at first, but winds turning south-west with a period of showers in the afternoon. Temperatures moderate. Further outlook: mainly fair. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Some showers, but mainly fair to cloudy weather.

The weather in Christchurch yesterday was cloudy and cool, with light northeasterly winds. At midnight the sky was almost clebr and there was a light north-east wind.
