MISSING MAN PRESUMED DEAD

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 1. A man who told his wife after lunch on July 26, 1943, that he was going to town to buy a singlet, and would not be long, has not been seen since. This was revealed at an inquest into the death of Herbert Kitteridge, aged 67. a retired billiards saloon keeper, held in Wellington yesterday. The Coroner (Mr W. G. Mellishi found that Kitteridge died on or about July 26, 1943, and that, as the body had not been found, there was no evidence as to the actual cause of death. There was no doubt that Kitteridge had died by some misadventure.
