CAR RACING
G. C. SMITH WINS BEACH CHAMPIONSHIP (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 2. The veteran racing driver, G. C. Smith, of Auckland, had a comfortable win in the New Zealand beach championship of 50 miles, at Muriwai on Saturday. He drove a Ford V 8 and exceeded 110 miles an hour on the straights. His time was 40min 44.65ec.
Two Christchurch drivers, H. Green and P. M. Hoare, were second and third respectively. Green drove a Wolseley Special and Hoare an R.A. Special.
