Mr David Henry, chairman and managing director of New Zealand Forest Products, Ltd., left by air for Sydney on. Saturday on the first sfage of an extensive business trip to the United States, Canada, Britain, and Scandinavia. He will investigate overseas pulp and paper manufacturing methods with a view to' their application at the company’s new mill at Kinleith, Tokoroa, which is due to start production early in 1952. The Rev. J. Sidlow Baxter, minister cf Charlotte Chapel. Edinburgh, the largest Baptist church in Scotland, is to make a month’s tour of New Zealand. Accompanied by Mrs Baxter, he is expected to arrive at Auckland on March' 12.
Mr A. P. Postlewaite, president of the. Auckland Returned Services’ Association, attended a meeting of the executive of the Christchurch association last evening. He was welcomed by the president (Mr H. E. Batchelor). Mr N. M. Speer was chosen yesterday to be the next general manager of the Auckland Electric Power Board. He is now secretary and assistant manager.— (P.A.)
Mr H. S. Cordery. who will leave for England soon, will be the delegate of the Christchurch Dickens Fellowship at a dinner party to be held in London, in May to celebrate the Dickens jubilee.
