(Rec. 12.10 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 31. Prayers published to-day by authority of the Archbishops of Canterbury and York for use before the General Election include one that asks: ‘‘That all candidates, agents, canvassers, and electors may avoid every temptation to impute unworthy motives or nourish unjustified suspicions; and may refrain from making or embracing unfounded promises.”

Another, for use at the time of the election, asks: : ‘That all electors may vote responsibly, fearlessly, and in good conscience, duly considering both their own interests and those of the community.” The prayers are for use both in church and in private.
