RESERVES ON PORT HILLS
CLEARING OF GORSE The demolition of the Sign of the Bellbird and the use of materials salvaged - in. the reconstruction of the Sign of the Kiwi were approved by the City Council last evening. The reserves committee reported that the preparation of plans for the reconstruction of the Sign of the Kiwi had been given to an outside architect.
Thfe council decided that the credit of £483 in the scenic reserves account at the end of March last be used for the control of gorse on the reserves when labour was available.
Two more reserves, one south of the Sign of the Bellbird and the other north-west of and adjoining Kennedy’s Bush, were accepted by the council
