AMERICAN RED CROSS
FIELD WORKERS’ DUTIES Serving United States servicemen at hundreds of army and navy posts all over the \vorld, more than 2000 field workers of the American Red Cross Society are doing splendid work. In peace time their duties are as varied as the places in which they are performed. They range from helping a soldier’s wife with her grocery and rent money until her family allowance cheque arrives, to sending word of a home emergency to a sailor on duty in the Mediterranean Sea. Outside America there are workers with occupation troops in Japan, and at hospitals and posts on Guam, Saipan, Okinawa, and in the Philippines. Although most workers in Europe are in occupied Germany, some are also in Austria, Trieste, France; and a few are in England.
