WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
Mairehau.—life in Burma during the years preceding the war and during the invasion, was the subject of a talk given by Mr Urquhart at the November meeting of the Mairehau Women's Institute. A report on the half-yearly meeting at Glentunnel was given by Mrs J. R. Walter. During the afternoon a collection was taken up among members for the Associated Country Women of the World funds. Competition results were as follows: bacon and egg pie on saucer: Mrs Dangerfield 1. Mrs Wright 2. Best bloom: Mrs Wright 1. Mrs Forsyth 2. Mrs Dangerfield 3. Embroidered tray cloth: Mrs Wright 1, Mrs Dangerfield 2, Mrs Forsyth
