MOTOR-CYCLIST TO PAY £70 FINE
FIVE CHARGES ADMITTED (New Zealand Press Association.) AUCKLAND, October 26. A chase in which Inspector Mellsop, of the Auckland City Council traffic* department, followed a motor-cyclist for nine miles at a speed. which at one stage reached 100 miles an hour had its sequel in the Magistrate’s Court to-day when Harold Clark Stacey, aged 30, was fined £7O and costs.
Stacey was charged with: reckless driving; driving when his licence had been cancelled; failing to stop for a traffic officer’s siren; failing to give information; and causing undue noise. He pleaded guilty to all the charges.
