PROVINCIAL STROKE HANDICAP RESULTS OF ASSOCIATION’S COMPETITION The final results of a stroke handicap on September 18, organised by the Canterbury Provincial Golf Association, have been obtained. The competition was played by members on the course of each club affiliated to the association, in three handicap grades. A gross score competition was also held. To bring the scores to an even level, a common standard scratch score was selected and the individual scores worked out proportionately by the match committee of the association. To find the equivalent net or gross score, the player’s score was multiplied by the common scratch score and divided by the club's scratch score. Proceeds from the competition have been placed in the association’s travelling fund. The following are the results:— Gross.—C. W. Caldwell (Christchurch. 73) 72—72.00; G. A.
