UNEMPLOYMENT ON MERSEYSIDE

CONFERENCE PROPOSED (Rec 7 p.m.) LONDON, October 13. The "Daily Telegraph” says that the Ministries of Labour and Transport will be asked to send representatives to a conference at Liverpool on the problem of growing unemployment in the Merseyside ship repairing industry.

More than 20.000 men were employed on the Merseyside during the war. but the figure has fallen to about 10 000.
