MR CHURCHILL
OPINIONS ON PARTY LEADERSHIP (Special Correspondent N.Z.P.A.) (Rec. 9 p.m.) LONDON. October 13. The removal of Mr Winston Churchill from the leadership of the Conservative Party would have little effect upon the election prospects of the Conservatives, according to a public opinion survey, the results of which were published to-day by the London "News Chronicle.” Ten per cent, of those questioned said Mr Churchill’s removal would make them less inclined to vote for the Conservatives, and 10 per cent, said it would make them more inclined.
Among Conservatives. 10 per cent, said they favoured a change of leadership, and 12 per cent, said they were against it. Fifty-two per cent, of all those questioned said a change would have no effect, and 21 per cent, said they would not vote for the Conservatives anyway. Seventy-four per cent..of Conservatives said a change in leadership would have no effect
