OFFICERS OF R.S.A.
ONE VICE-PRESIDENT IN FUTURE
In future the Christchurch Returned Services’ Association will have one vice-president instead of two. This was decided by a meeting of the association on the motion of the president (Mr H E. Batchelor), who said that it had been decided to reduce the number on the executive to 12. If there was one vice-president that man could be trained to take over the presidency. “Fourteen days’ notice must be given for an amendment to the constitution. and I understand that only 13 days’ notice were given in this case.” said Mr G. A. Franks. “Oh, sit down, sit down,” came a chorus of voices.
“I am not opposing it,” Mr Franks said, “but merely pointing this out in case any difficulty crops up in future.” On the motion of Mr D. W. Russell, the meeting decided that no member of the executive should be employed by the association, either full-time or part-time.
