Sir, —Could you please tell me if a child suffering from ringworm is allowed to attend a public school and mix with other children?—Yours, etc., MOTHER.
Tai Tapu, October 10, 1949. [The District Medical Officer of Health (Dr. J. H. Blakelock) says that if a child has ringworm on the scalp, exclusion from school is necessary. The Health Department did not insist on a child’s staying away from school if the child had ringworm on the body.]
