3YA RADIO STATION

Sir,—May I join “Ad Nauseam” in protest against the monopoly the socalled high-class music has over 3YA, using request sessions as a guide. One is soon convinced that the present programmes are not appreciated by the majority, who also pay 25s per annum. Why not push the high-brow music on to 3YC and stop favouring the minority This would save building another powerful station. After listening to screaming saws all day it is not at all restful to switch on one’s radio and hear very much the same noise each night. It is a pity that radiograms are so expensive, for with one of these we could forget 3YA until, as a special favour, it held a request session.—Ypurs, etc., COUNTRY LISTENER. October 11. 1949.
