OFFICIAL FORECASTS “The Press” Special Service WELLINGTON. October 12. The weather forecast for Canterbury issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Office. Wellington, and dealing with the 20 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: Situation: there is an anti-cyclone north of New Zealand. Pressures are low to the south and east cf New Zealand. and in the South Tasman Sea. Forecast to 5 p.m.: moderate variable winds. Weather fair to cloudy, except for local fog and coastal drizzle in the early morning. Temperatures moderate to mild. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Light to moderate variable winds. Weather cloudy, with occasional light rain or drizzle. Temperatures moderate. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather was fine and mild in Christchurch yesterday with a light north-east Wind. The maximum temperature was 64.4 degrees. The sky was clear at midnight, with a light north-west wind. Th? temperature was 47.fi degrees. The barometer, falling, registered 29.758 in (10H7.7 millibars.
