AMENDMENT TO FRIENDLY SOCIETIES’ BILL

Authority for friendly societies- to provide and maintain holiday accommodation for members of such organisations and their families, is contained ,n . Friendly Societies’ Amendment t Bill, which was introduced and read I for the first time in the House of Representatives to-dav. The bill alsc increases by £250 to £750 the maximum gross sum for contracts nf assurance taken out by members of societies. The Minister of Finance (Mr Nash) said the bill also authorised societies to lend their members up to £59 without security and any sum with security.
