COLLIERY STRIKE ENDS
MEN TO RESUME WORK NEW YORK. September 30. The president of the United Mine Workers of America (Mr John L. Lewis) to-day ordered Pennsylvania's 102,000 coal miners west of the Mississippi to return to work on Monday. The order ends the strike by these miners which started on September 19. To-day's move was announced in a telegram from Mr Lewis to the presidents of the affected districts, saying that suspension of mining in the area was not now vital to the pending wage negotiations. He added that action would be taken to minimise the loss to all parties.
