An indication of the seriousness of the housing position, and of the number of persons who reply to advertisements offering accommodation, was given by a witness in the Magistrate’s Court at Christchurch in the hearing of a tenancy case. In evidence the witness said that he had answered 74 advertisements offering accommodation. He had not received one reply.
