INTER DOMINION CONTEST

EACH TEAM WINS ONE SECTION (New Zealand Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH. October 1. The New Zealand-Australia interDominion ski contest which was continued under unpleasant conditions on the slopes of Mount Ruapehu yesterday, has been won by Australia in the men’s section and New Zealand in the women’s. Points were counted on the combined times of both the slalom and downhill events, and although Australia won both the men’s and women’s downhill races to-day, the convincing win of the New Zealand women in the slalom gave them a slight lead in the combined points. The women’s downhill course was a descent of 1600 ft in a little over a mile on the Te Heuheu Valley. The men’s course began higher up and was a descent of 1750 ft in more than one and a quarter miles. In both the men’s and women’s events the standard of ski-ing was very high despite conditions.
