INTOXICATED DRIVER
♦ LICENCE SUSPENDED FOR TEN YEARS (New Zealand Press Association.) AUCKLAND September fi Convicted for the third time of beinK intoxicated while in charge of a motorcar. Sydney Brown, 45. company manager, was to-day fined £5O and had his driving licence cancelled for 10 years. The police told Mr H. Jenner Wily. S M.. that Brown’s licence was taken from him in 1947 for three years. The authorities returned it conditionally on his using the car for business purposes only. Brown, whose car hit a safety zone in Ponsonby road, told the Court he had had only two whiskies during the night. The Magistrate said it was clear that Brown was intoxicated.
