MARKETS QUIET Markets were quiet on the Christchurch Stock Exchange yesterday, and prices of most stocks dealt in were firm. Reported business was widely spread, and in only one instance was a price fall recorded. In quotations for New Zealand mining stocks, buyers for Austral (N.Z.) offered 5s 6d, with sellers 6d away. For Grey Rivers, buyers offered 3s 7d, sellers asking 4s 9d. Sellers of Snowy River, cum dividend. asked ss, without response from buyers.
