ACCIDENTS
BOY SUFFERS FATAL BURNS (New Zealand Press Association.) WHARGAREI, July 18. Fatal burns were suffered by a seven-year-old boy, Barry Anderson, at Whangaruru south on Saturday afternoon. He was standing in front of an open fire, to which wood was added, either by himself or by a little girl, and his clothes caught fire. Doctors at the Whangarei Hospital worked continuously for five hours trying to save his life. MOTOR-CYCLIST INJURED George Rex Bryant, a young man, of 24 Jeffreys road, Fendalton, suffered head. injuries when the motor-cycle which he was riding collided with a tramway bus at the corner of Weston road and Bretts road about 5 o’clock yesterday afternoon. He was admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital, where his condition last evening was reported to be satisfactory.
