57,000 DROWNED IN HUNAN
Floods Ravage China; Millions Homeless (Rec. 11 p.m.) HONG KONG, July 18. Twenty million Chinese are reported to be homeless as a result of floods. The Nationalist Government’! Home Minister (General Li Hanhuen) said that 57,000 persons had been drowned in Huran Province, where 5.000,000 were homeless and 5,000,000 acres of rice fields had been destroyed in the worst flood for 50 yeans.
