NEW BRIGHTON SCHOOL
RAWHITI DOMAIN SITE REFUSED
Canterbury Education Board's request for a school site in Rawhiti Domain has been declined by the Christchurch City Council, but part of the area Imown as Withell's island will be offered instead.
The reser\es committee made this recommendation last evening after an msp«ition and conference at New Brighton. The Education Board had onered to exenange a reserve adjoinmg the North Brighton Schoo! for the domain site, the report added. The chairman of reserves <Cr. J. N. Clarkes said he understood the school authorities considered Withell’s island too far away and would not accept the offer.
