DENMARK REPLIES TO SOVIET NOTE (Rec. 9.30 p.m.) COPENHAGEN. May 6. In a Note signed by the Prime Minister (Mr Hans Hecltoft). ds Acting Foreign Minister Denmark to-day replied to a Soviet Note of April 3 on the North Atlantic Treat:/. The Danish Note said the Government considered the treaty to be a purely defensive one, not ,aimed against any State or group of States. The Note continued: “The treaty is in full accordance with and subordinated to the United Nations Charter. It is the sincere wish of the Danish Government and the Danish people to consolidate and further to develop tfieit peaceful and friendly relations with the Soviet Goverrimeht.”
