PEDESTRIAN DIES FROM INJURIES

STRUCK BY MOTOR-CYCLE (New Zealand Press Association.) WHAKATANE, May 5. Injured 'when he was struck by a motor-cycle at 6.15 o’clock last evening, Henry Wallace Ward, aged about 60, a garage manager, of Edgecumbe, died in the Whakatane Hospital early this morning. Mr Ward, who was walking on the Edgecumbe-Thornton road between the Edgecumbe School clinic and the school, both arms broken and his back injured. The rider of the motor-cycle, Norman Sydney Andrews, aged 21, is in hospital with a broken left arm.
