TRACK WORK AT RICCARTON

ASHBURTON CANDIDATES GALLOP The trial grass at Riccarton yesterday provided fast going. Ashburton candidates to impress m their final gallops were Balkis, Terminate, Disturbance, Revolte, and the two-year-old Bosun. Disturbance, a likely light-weight candidate tor the Tinwald Handicap, galloped freely to record Imin 42sec for a m li e * **? e last half-mile taking 50 2-ssec. Terminate moved away from the mile, and was accompanied over the last six furlongs by Infatuate, the pair finishing practically on terms. Terminate’s mile took Imin 42 2rssec, and the pair ran the last six furlongs in Imin 16 2-ssec, the last four taking 50 4-ssec. Revolte, one of the early favourites for. the Tinwald Handicap, put dash into his gallop over seven furlongs in Imin 30sec, the last four taking 50 3-ssec. Jockey Injured A schooling bout by Master Play, Light Tea, and Lunaria was marred when Master Play struck the first fence, the boards, and catapulted his rider, R. G Bradshaw, from the saddle. Bradshaw fell heavily and was sent to hospital by ambulance. After treatment for neck injuries as an out-patient, he was discharged. Light Tea and Lunaria completed a round.
