WANGANUI WOOL SALE
KEEN WELLSPREAD COMPETITION (New Zealand Press Association.) WANGANUI, May 5. The official report of the Wanganui Woolbrokers’ Association says that at the final sale of the season, held to-day before a full bench of buyers, the offering comprised 9057 bales of new season’s wool and 15,652 .bales of stock wool. Competition was keen and well spread, and at times bidding was very animated. On the average, compared with the Wanganui March sale, prices were easier, but showed definite improvement on recent sales in other centres. The offering comprised some very attractive binned wools, made up of lines of good fleece, lambs, necks, bellies, and pieces, but. as usual in the final sale of the season, a large quantity of oddments was included. Practically the whole of the offering was sold at auction. The only lines passed were those carrying growers’ reserves. Joint Organisation did not take any wool. The official range of prices is as follows :
