VATICAN PROTEST AGAINST TRIAL OF CARDINAL.—The Pope, with arms outstretched, addressing the vast crowd which gathered in St. Peter’s square, Rome, on February 20 to protest against the trial and imprisonment of Cardinal Mindszenty, Primate of Hungary. Many thousands Waited for hours to hear the Pope, who described the Hungarian Government as anti-religious and the Cardinal’s imprisonment as persecution.
