SIMS SCHOLARSHIP SELECTION
COMMITTEE APPOINTED Soon after the Canterbury University College Council meeting began yesterday afternoon, the chairman (Sir Joseph Ward) said that a selection committee to award the Sims Empire Scholarship must be appointed. “We will take the discussion in committee,” he said to the reporter attending. “I will move that we formally go into committee then,” said Mr D. W. Bain. It was announced later that Sir Joseph Ward, the rector (Dr. H. R. Hulr e). and Mr A. E. Flower had been appointed.
