Alterations to Flying-boat
Regarded as the biggest aircraft conversion job attempted in New Zealand, the transformation of the former n oyal New Zealand Air Force Sunderland flying-boat Takitimu into a modern passenger aeroplane is nearing an end at Hobsonville. The aircraft will probaby leave the National Airways Corporation’s base on March 20 and will begin its service on the Auckland-Fiji route on April 2. About 70 men have been engaged on the job since September.—(P.A.)
