OFFICIAL FORECASTS "The Press" Special Service WELLINGTON, Feb. 28. The weather forecast for Canterbury Issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Office. Wellington, and dealing with the 20 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: Situation: an anti-cyclone is moving eastward across New Zealand. Forecast to 5 p.m.: variable winds inland, moderate to fresh north-easterlies near the coast; weather fair to fine; temperatures mild cr warm. Further outlook: fair. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Moderate north-west winds; fair to cloudy and mild. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER . Yesterday in Christchurch was fine and sunny, with a light north-east wind The maximum temperature was 69.9 degrees. At midnight the sky was clear, and there was a moderate north-east wind. The temperature was 57.8 degrees, and the barometer, at 30.030 inches (10'16.9 millibars), was falling. Rainfall for 24 hours ended 1 a.m. ..
