ST. BEDE’S COLLEGE CADETS

DRUM, TRUMPET, AND BUGLE BAND FORMED A drum, trumpet, and band will be formed by cadets at St. Bede’s College, under Captain J. L. Napier, of Southern Military District Headquarters. The band will be 50 strong, with 20 drums and 30 trumpets and bugles. Training will begin this afternoon when the cadets begin a four days’ barracks course at the college. Captain Napier has had considerable experience with bands at Dunedin and Invercargill and trained the Southland Boys’ High School drum, trumpet, and bugle band, which attracted so much attention at the Centennial Exhibition in Wellington. Waitaki Boys’ High School On March 5 cadets from Waitaki Boys’ High School will begin a sevenday course at Burnham under Brigadier J. T. Burrows, D. 5.0.. E.D., headmaster of the school. Major H. J. Robins will be the officer commanding the battalion.
