PLEASANT POINT There were capacity pennjngs in all sections *at the Pleasant Point sale yesterday. Competition opened quietly for the 120 head of fat catle but, as the sale progressed, values eased. Little interest was taken in the few store cattle which were offered. Values were:— Prime heavy steers, £l7 12s 6d to £l9 12s 6d; light to medium steers. £l4 2s 6d to £l7 2s 6d; prime heavy heifers, £l5 2s 6d to £l7 12s 6d; light to medium heifers, £l5 2s 6d to £l7 12s 6d; light to medium heifers. £lO 7s 6d to £l3 17s 6d; prime cows, £l4 2s 6d to £l6 7s 6d; light to medium cows, £7 12s 6d to £ll 2s 6d. The yarding of 700 fat lambs held very fipm under steady competition. The bulk of the yarding of fat ewes was of freezing quality, but a good clearance was made of all grades. The store sheep entry comprised ewes, wethers, and lambs of various grades, and the demand was steady to firm throughout. Prices were:—prime heavy lambs, 39s lOd to 43s id; prime lambs, 35s Id to 37s lOd, light 33s lOd to 34s lOd; prime heavy wethers, 50s lOd to 55s ld> prime medium wethers, 44s lOd to 48s Id; light, 37s Id to 40s Id; prime maiden ewes, 32s lOd to 36s Id; prime heavy ewes, 28s lOd to 32s 4d; prime ewes, 26s Id to 27s lOd; light 20s Id to 24s lOd. Store sheep: best rape lambs, 28s 6d to 335; medium wether lambs, 24s 6d to 26s
3d; medium ewe lambs, 26s to 27s 6d; best Romney ewe lambs, 30s to 35s 9d; shorn lambs. 18s 3d to 225; two-tooth wethers, 31s 6d to 38s 9d; small wether lambs. 18s 6d to 20s 6d; cull lambs. 13s 2d to 16s 2d: sound-mouth ewes, to 265: rape ewes, 9s 3d to 15s.
