WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

Burwood.— Mrs Leverett presided at the February meeting of the Burwood Women’s Institute. It was reported that the January meeting had taken the form of a well-attended picnic at Stewart’s Gully. Nominations were received for the committee. It was decided to hold a flower and vegetable show in the Rowe Memorial Hall on March 8. Competition results were as follows:—cheese scones, Mrs Partridge 1, Mrs Winduss 2. Mrs Cade 3; small bloom, Mrs Hunter 1, Mrs Partridge 2; flower spike, Mrs Russell 1, Mrs Cusack 2, Mrs Banks 3; sewing, Mrs Cusack 1.
