Designs are invited by the Post Office for a special set of four postage stamps (Id, 2d. 3d, and 6d) to commemosate the CENTENNIAL of the CANTERBURY i PROVINCIAL DISTRICT to be held in 1950. “In addition to the charges specified below, an additional suqi of 2s in the pound or portion thereof shall be added as part of the Basic Charge in each case, and each account shall be subject to a reduction of the amounf so added if it is paid within 14 days of the date on which the account is rendered." DOMESTIC TARIFF. 1. In all cases the number of units per quarter at lOd will be forty-eight (48). 2. Schools, churches, and "non-commer-cial” halls will be subject to a minimum charge of £1 per quarter. The above alterations will come into force on Ist April, 1949, which means that they will be first shown in the Meter Readings which commence on Ist July, 1949. Copies of amendments to the Schedule of Charges issued on Ist April, 1948, may be obtained from the Board’s office, Darfield. The above alterations have the approval of the Economic Stabilisation Commission. The object of these alterations to the Board’s Schedule of Charges is the elimination of the Power Board Rate on Property in the Malvern Electric Power District.
