Growth of Rotary

Rotary international, which celebrated its 44th birthday last Wednesday. has now a membership of 322,000 iin 80 countries with more than 6700 Rotary clubs. In the last six months 1172 new clubs have been organised in I Argentina, Australia, in Brazil and I Burma, in Finland and France and in | Iceland and India. As a concrete expression of one of its principal objec- ' tives—“the advancement of international understanding, goodwill and peace?’—Rotary International has awarded 55 Rotary Foundation Fellowships in the last two years. These fellowships will enable graduate students of many countries to study abroad. They provide for one year of study and carry grants ranging from [2OOO to 4000 dollars.
