NATIVE QUESTION IN AFRICA
GENERAL SMUTS’ ATTITUDE CAPE TOWN, February 25. General Smuts has told tile Prime Minister (Dr. D. F. Malan) that the United Party cannot co-operate in the proposed investigation of the native question by a Parliamentary commission. General Smuts declined to take part on the ground that the United Party was required to accept the Nationalist (Government) Party's policy of apartheid (Segregation), abandoning its own viewpoint.
