A Canterbury contractor who is at present operating in Southland has been putting up figures for hay baling that are being claimed in Southland as records. The latest was 2248 bales turned out by his automatic pick-up baler on the farm of Mr L. Wilkins, at Milton, in a 10-hour working day. This tally was no doubt assisted by the long Southland twilight, because baling went on until 10.30 at night
