Fumigation of Steamer.— The 10.000ton steamer Wairata, which arrived at Wellington on Thursday evening with building steel from New Guinea, is being held in the stream until she can be fumigated. As the steel was virtually "loaded from the jungle.” the Union Manufacturing and Export Company, which chartered the ship, requested this precautionary measure. —(P.A.)
