FENCING WIRE FROM U.K.
2300 TONS THIS YEAR 90 PER CENT. OF EXPORT (P.A.) WELLINGTON. February 25. The United Kingdom is to send New Zealand 2300 tons of fencing wire, representing 90 per cent, of the amount exported during this year. This is nearly half as much again as the 1948 allocation. Advice to this effect has been received by the Minister of Industries and Commerce (Mr A. H. Nordmeyer) from the British Board of Trade. Mr Nordmeyer said substantial supplies of fencing wire had also been arranged from Belgium. Czechoslovakia, and the United States.
